Snooker: Higgins storms into last-eight
The two-time winner came back from being 2-0 down to beat Carter.
John Higgins kept his cool and made it to the last-eight of the Betfair Masters with a 6-3 win over Ali Carter. The two-time winner, who has lost 10 times in the first-round of the invitation tournament at Alexandra Palace, came back from being 2-0 down to beat Carter. The world number three Higgins, 37, had breaks of 117, 97 and 65 in the win. “The defeats have been in my mind,” said Higgins. “However, you can’t let it stay in your head or you’d throw your cue in the crowd.”
