Senior members of the Tahaffuz-e-Azadari Council condemned an incident on Sunday where Sindh Infromation Minister Sharjeel Memon and Sindh Senior Minister Pir Mazharul Haque were ‘treated rudely’ by angry protesters.
In a joint statement issued here on Monday, they said the people involved did not belong to their community and were working on someone else’s agenda.
They said that they were the mourners of the grandson of the Holy Prophet (Pbuh) and respect everyone who visits them. They said that they were thankful to the provincial ministers who had come to show solidarity with them.
They said that the ministers continued to share grief despite the fact that some people had resorted to ‘a rude attitude’ when they came to visit them. They said that Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza and Sharjeel Memon were in touch with them despite the unfortunate incident.
They said that they were thankful to them because they fully cooperated with them when Quetta’s injured had to be transferred to hospitals in Karachi.

Shame on those who attacked the Ministers, who had presented themselves (unlike the other cowardly politiicians, yes I am looking at you PMN and PTI) in order to hear grievances and show solidarity with their fellow countrymen (yes shias and hazaras are pakistanis!!!) this may have been a case of 'lashing out' in order to show their frustration understandable under the circumstances but not justified unless you are grieving or an ignoramus.
The ministers deserved to be pelted with shoes, not just rude be treatment.
My observation was that the treatment handed out to the two ministers had nothing to do with the Shia protests. It had to do with who the ministers were and who they represented.
These people deserve it..........Great.....and should be treated like this...
There was no need for condemnation for this treatment. A tissue paper was more than enough...
I feel the treatment was pretty appropriate
very responsible statement
These are the true followers of Islam and are proud of their dedication and tradition. No wonder rude crude and savage hateful extremists terrorists do not like them. The whole nation is with you the mourners.
This is the ugliest incident of human hatred inflicted with satanic intent on another human being. It has abundantly displayed the true character of uneducated and uncivilized Pakistanis.
The Skunk happily joined the 'dharna' and participated wholeheartedly. The discipline was high and immaculate. All the litter was obediently picked up, put into buckets and disposed of at the right place. Not a single incident took place to create a mess-up. Peaceful throughout.
Present at Bilawal Chowk were little children, women, and men who while influencing their cause with reminders of the Shuhdae Karbala sent reminders to the administration to speed up the governor's rule in Quetta.
Salams to unity, faith and discipline in Pakistan for 2013???
These two "ministers" were set upon by MQM elements present there . . . it is no secret as to the animosity between them. . Some say they deserved it.
