Long march: Hospitals put on high alert

March is to start from Lahore and pass by Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum and Gujjar Khan to get to Islamabad.

LAHORE: The Health Department has put all government health facilities on the route of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s long march on high alert. A Health Department spokesman said that basic health units, district headquarters hospitals and teaching hospitals along the route would be on alert to handle any emergency. He said the holidays of senior faculty members of medical colleges, doctors and paramedics had been cancelled. The hospitals have been directed to make sure that they have adequate stocks of all blood groups and medicines, he added. The long march is to start from Lahore and pass by Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum and Gujjar Khan on the Grand Trunk Road to get to Islamabad.
