Residents of Sector G-7 on Friday held a protest against the suspension of gas and blocked Jinnah Avenue for one hour.
Dozens of protesters carrying banner and placards inscribed with slogans against the government said that since the beginning of the month, gas pressure has reduced in their locality.
“How is it possible to survive without gas in the winter cold? Protest is the last option remaining,” said Muhammad Atif, a protester. They complained that all of Sector G-7 is facing low pressure problems and sometimes Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) suspended gas entirely.
They warned the government that they would show their power in front of parliament if government has not restored gas pressure in their sector. Later, the protesters disperse peacefully.
