“This march is not for me to get in power but a struggle for the people of Pakistan, who have been deprived of their rights,” he said.
Qadri was speaking to the media in Lahore.
Accusing the government of creating hindrances, Qadri said transporters have been pressurised against providing conveyance to the long march participants.
He said their licenses have been taken away from them, while many of the camps were removed.
“People have been harassed; not arrested though,” he explained.
'Govt supporting terrorists'
Given the years long wave of terrorism in the country, Qadri said there are only two possibilities: either the government is supporting terrorists or it has completely failed to control them.
The MQI chief said that in both the scenarios, the government has no legal or moral authority to stay in power.
He further questioned if there is another explanation for the ongoing bloodshed.
Qadri also said that electoral reforms have become necessary to ensure such “corrupt and shameless leaders” don’t come to power again.
‘Public FIR’
Expressing fears of bloodshed, Qadri said if anything goes wrong, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Chief Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah will be responsible.
Calling his complaint a public FIR, the MQI chief said the people of Pakistan should know who to blame in case of a mishap.
‘Hussaini mission’
Recalling the war of Karbala, Qadri said no amount of pressure can stop him from carrying on with his plans as he was following the footsteps of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
“I’m fighting against the Yazidi system, I’m heading towards Karbala,” he said.
He further said that he has summoned his family and close associates to inform them about his final will.
Govt to investigate march funding
Hinting suspicion, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said the government will investigate the source of funding for Qadri’s long march.
Kaira was speaking to the media in Islamabad.
He also appreciated the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) decision to not take part in the “million-man” march.

I must say that president should come forward and address the nation on this issue. This is a reality that a simple man is pushed back to live his life. The security issue is turning the country on a worst agenda.
Mr. President you have to come forward and play your responsibility and a secure media can play a good role. A common man again only be effected with the practice planed for the next week.

Dr.tahir is speaking the truth he want to change the status quo. .Why development funds and job quota are being given to parlimentarians, recently a MNA from sindh got 37 job quota and he added 2 zero..making it 3700 jobs..and sold each job for 2 lac...calculate the amount he erned
Whatever Dr Qadri says, no sane person of this country can disagree with it unless it is for the love of the present corrupt dispensation. Remember to bring change, a price has to be paid or else live in perpetual miseries. I double-dare him to leave his bullet-proof case and probably some SUV and complete the long-march in sub-zero temperatures. Next thing he get a one-way ticket to Canada and be unheard of for at least the next seven years.
yes! it is a right of every Pakistani to stand against the wrong or bad policy of present govt: i am totally fever of dr. tahir in the election policy now its time for a big change .And govt: should be gave total security in that long march other views we Pakistani face very difficulties .And i thing Pakistan Tahrik-e-insaf should b take part in that long march if they talk about some change so why they are not together ?
TQ is 100% correct, MQM initially wanted to gain some advantage via TQ's popularity which they did, and now they have turned their backs, which is totally okay. TQ's invitation was open for all political parties to join him and only MQM joined, for their own perceived benefit, which they don't see any longer so they got out.
All these people questioning TQ and his intentions are truly the ones that do not understand the issues, or they are themselves corrupt, or just talking-ducks ... people who stay on the sidelines and make fool comments based on their biased judgement.

Although I admire Mr. Qadri's intentions and resolve to carry them out, I still have reservations as to what might be the outcome of the proposed march.
I feel that this march will do nothing but to display the average citizen's frustration with the current government. Something that most Pakistani's have already been doing.

One think that is really puzzling me is that our media, especially our electronic media seems to be strongly against the long march. Other day a much known talk show host (who only himself talk in the entire show, sometime without any sense) was trying to convince Punjab Law Minister to take an injunction from Supreme Court against the march. Why is our electronic media, which is always after the government even to the extent to predicting boots marching into Islamabad, is against the march. Maybe the time will tell.
In the UK democracy if one speaks against the Queen, the police arrests the individual for his own safety and keeps him for a limted time and then release him. Pakistan Interior minister could follow the same rule for Mr Qadri and put him on the next plane from where he flew over for his own security. The alternative is to hand him over to the Talibans for a litmus test..

its interesting to see that a lot of people who initially supported imran khan are now supporting qadri. looks like these people want new personalities rather than new policies. i would advise them to vote for the people who speak the truth and are proposing the right policies that this country desperately needs...

Mr Sheikul Islam! It is land of pure and here any thing can happen. I have all the doubts you will be able to lead a long march successfully. Dont you have any other option to morally and ethically reform the whole nation? Ponder on this aspect if you fail to achieve your goal.
The change can only come through dispossessing the landlords from undue power they weild. Until one does not understand this cannot offer a solution. The first thing is to dis-empower the land lords who make it to the parliament because of the power they weild due their large land holdings. Bring down the land holdings and their power will go. Period.
Introduce land ceiling like it is in India. Most of our problems will be solved.
