PARACHINAR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) president for Kurram Agency (KA) Dr Riaz Hussain was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard on Thursday. He was gunned down by unidentified militants a day earlier, enroute to his private clinic in Dabgari. The doctor was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The body was shifted to the main Imambargah at the KA headquarters for funeral prayers. Hundreds of thousands of mourners paid tribute to the slain leader and attended his funeral prayers. Hussain’s brother former vice air marshal Qaisar Hussain said they will continue and complete his deceased brother’s mission to restore peace in the region. “He offered his life for the unity of people,” said Qaisar. Dr Hussain survived multiple suicide and remote-bomb attacks by militants. Police launched a search operation but have failed to arrest any culprits.
