KARACHI: More funds from the budget need to be spent on the education sector, said Ismail Bawany, the trustee of Aisha Bawany Academy, on Thursday.

Pakistan ranks 113th out of 120 countries on the Education Development Index, said Bawani. Reports from the Global Monitoring Society reveal that Pakistan spends seven times more on its military than on primary education.

It has the second highest number of children who are out of school in the world.
