Diploma: Internships at the zoo

LAHORE: The Lahore Zoo has started an internship programme for students studying for a Diploma in Veterinary Management (DVM). As many as 20 DVM students are in an internship programme at the zoo. According to zoo administration, the zoo has become affiliated with the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Gomal University, DI Khan and Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan. Lahore Zoo Director Chaudhry Shafqat Ali said that there several internship programmes were being started. He said the number of animals had increased in the zoo and special arrangements had been made to protect them from the cold weather. The animals are vaccinated every three months, he added.
