Consumer court: Manager to appear in court on Feb 13

Petitioner prayed that the respondent pay Rs300,000 as damages as well as refund the Rs1,700 he had paid.

LAHORE: The consumer court issued a notice to the manager of a restaurant for February 13 on a suit seeking damages of Rs300,000 for serving poor quality food. Petitioner Muhammad Azam said that he had gone to Ahmed Restaurant on Walton Road with friends a few days back. The food, he said, was substandard. “The mutton was stale. It smelt foul.” Azam said that even though he complained to the manager, Muhammad Tahir, he was made to pay the entire bill. He said he had not eaten the food. He prayed that the respondent pay Rs300,000 as damages as well as refund the Rs1,700 he had paid. Tahir maintainted that Azam and his friend were served ‘good’ food. He said the petitioner’s allegations were false.
