FAISALABAD:

The government is not showing a serious attitude towards resolving the energy crisis whereas the Ministry of Textile is responsible for capital flight, said Faisalabad’s business community.

Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Mian Zahid Aslam, during a meeting of heads of various trade associations, said, “Our economy is directionless and the energy crisis that we face today is due to mismanagement on the part of the authorities.” Every year growth of about 10% in power generation is mandatory for the gross domestic product to grow 6% annually, he elaborated.

He maintained that the government did not realise the gravity of the situation as Faisalabad will be forced to lay off 1.5 million workers if the energy situation is not resolved.
