Sri Lanka made slow progress on day two of the first unofficial Test against Pakistan ‘A’ at the Galle International Stadium as wicket-keeper Kaushal Silva completed a half-century and was left unbeaten at 63 runs at close of play.  Pakistan’s bowlers, who tasted minor success on the rain-hit first day of the match, were unable to break the 67-run partnership between Silva and Thilina Kandamby.

Kandamby, who remained unbeaten on 22, provided steady support to Silva who continued his good form from the first day.

Sri Lanka, who at one point stood at 45 for two on day one, cemented their position by adding 61 more runs on day two, closing the day at 166 runs for the loss of three wickets.

The tourists, who introduced leg-break bowler Yasir Shah hoping to grab some wickets, were left luckless on a curtailed second day.
