Violence in the city: Two men shot in targeted attack

KARACHI: In another violent day in the city, two men belonging to a sectarian organisation were shot on Friday.

In Baldia Town, Muhammad Rashid alias Shan, 24, was shot dead while Rizwan Nizamuddin, 29, was wounded in a targeted attack. Rashid was the unit in-charge of Sunni Tehreek while Nizamuddin was also a party worker.

The two men were part of a congregation for a slain leader of the party, Saleem Qadri, when they were shot at, said SHO Ali Niazi. They were taken to Civil hospital.

The party’s spokesperson, Fahim Qadri, condemned the killing and demanded the arrest of the culprits. He said that there are some people who are deliberately trying to destablise the city.

Meanwhile, two freight transporters and their driver were also shot dead on Sir Shah Suleman Road near Aziz Bhatti police station upon resistance during a robbery.Additionally, the police found some body parts from three gunny bags dumped on a road in Baldia Town.
