Dr Tahirul Qadri’s long march expected to kick off on January 14 has been the source of much political tension, debate and rumour-mongering over the last week.

On January 3, we asked our readers on The Express Tribune Facebook page to give us one message they would like to pass on to Tahirul Qadri regarding his long march.

We received over 100 messages for Qadri, a snapshot of which are below:

Adnan Bajwa We're sick of democrazy.....Let’s bring in the Boots will you?!

Waqar Malik Dr. Qadri keep it up. People of Pakistan need change. After PTI Jalsa of Lahore, PPP & PML-N also called Imran Khan an agent of ISI. Now they are calling you the same. Keep it up and try to bring PTI too and make a political alliance with MQM & PTI. That will be best alliance because Imran Khan is great man.

Sahoo Barlas Do it against terrorists and don't keep it to an occasion. Try to organize the masses at street level. March will not make a big difference, if it does, it will not be in the interest of a common man. You have accompanied with you the most corrupt of the lot. Choose your companions carefully. They become your identity. You know you are not in position to win the next election, not the next but in coming 20 years you wouldn't be able to become a power through vote. If this is the reality then accept it. Go to the people, live with them, learn from them and then try to transform the society and system. From a sky view, you will be misled.

Ahmad Tehseen Stop following orders of the military establishment and try to be a politician on your own.

Hur Hussain Syed Dr. Qadri - Promise only what you can deliver! Keep your agenda clear and straight. Especially for Army/Judiciary/America/Mullahs/Taliban/Fuedals. Today’s friends shouldn't be tomorrow’s enemies.

Mohammad Babar Khan I wish if you had announced this march 4 years ago, I would have participated then. But it's too late now.

Atiq Ur Rehman Ghumman Dr.Qadri has started something which should have been started before to get rid of dynastic and feudals rulers and these rulers believe that it’s their legitimate right to govern Pakistani people the way they want. They are very hard working and busy in looting with consensus and brotherhood along with all collation partners in the name double-crossing democracy. The best way of rule an Islamic country is Islamic law.

Ali Waqas Dr. Tahir ul Qadri...Please...Let this country move on its own...Your long march is not needed, Let election be held. Let democracy flourish. It takes time to develop systems. Public would reject corrupt governments/parties in elections. Where were you before? Electoral policies could have been amended earlier, it’s time to let it leave. There is nothing special or that much horrible happened now that you need to make this long march move. Stop playing!

Epicurus Kh Dr Tahirul Qadri, Being aware of the political unrest, law and order situation in the country and most importantly TTP's threat of carrying out attacks against MQM which is a leading party involved in the march, you are putting "4 MILLION (your own stats)" lives at stake. Revolutions are seldom bloodless and if something goes wrong then one wouldn't be wrong holding you responsible. Many women would be widowed & countless children would be orphaned. Will your family march in the masses with the masses? Obviously not. Please have some mercy on the country!

Naveed Asghar Just want to say "Old wine in a new bottle".

I still not be able to understand why people of my country run so rapidly beyon personalities, and change their veiws so quickly.i am agree what TQ is saying but this country has a solid constitution over which each and every political party urges to follow upon. I personally think courts are now independent as compared to past.if he has some reservations,he must sue to corut for rectification of various issues ha has in his mind.if court dose'nt respond what he expects, then he has ghd right to go for long March.

The way he is going to disturb the whole system which already been clashed has dangerous impact overall.

He got the sympathesis of those people whose hands are coloured with hundres of innocent citizens of karachi.so i personally say it is an foreign agenda what he wants to implement in this country.
