KARACHI:
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah have given the Sindh police chief a five-day deadline to arrest the accused involved in the murder of Shazeb Khan.
Police have failed to arrest any of the accused nominated in the murder of Shahzeb, who was shot dead near his home in Defence last week. A popular student and son of DSP Aurangzaib, Shahzeb’s murder created an uproar in civil society. The CM and the governor felt the police have not been efficient enough to apprehend the accused Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur, who are the sons of influential people.
IG Police Sindh, Fiyyaz Leghari, has set up a five-member committee comprising high ranking police officials and directed them to immediately arrest the men. The committee is headed by DIG South Shahid Hayat. The committee has also been directed to take help from other law enforcing agencies, including FIA.
