KARACHI: Captain Sana Mir and Qanita Jalil excelled with the ball as Pakistan women’s team secured a three-wicket victory over Lahore U-16 boys in a practice match for the ICC Women World Cup in India. Sana, the experienced all-rounder, picked three wickets after conceding just 25 runs as the Lahore side was dismissed for 111 in 25 overs at Bagh-e-Jinnah Ground. Qanita (three for 24) was also impressive while Sadia Yousuf (two for 13) was the other main performing bowler. Ali Zaryab (32) and Umar Farooq (24) were the top scorers for Lahore. In reply, the women team struggled but a defiant knock of 24 from Sidra Amin proved enough to steer the side safely to the target. Nida Dar (17) and Asmaiya Iqbal (16) also made valuable contributions while Salman Saleem (three for 18) was the pick of the bowlers from the losing team.
