FAISALABAD: Birth registration in the district will be computerised in two weeks, District Coordination Officer Muhammad Amin Chaudhry said on Tuesday.

He was addressing an orientation seminar on birth registration at the District Council building.

The event was jointly arranged by the local government, Community Development Department and the United Nations Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF). The DCO said that birth registration was every child’s right. Urging the parents to ensure that their children were registered at birth, the DCO said the registration allowed children to benefit from national development schemes and campaigns and helped the government plan keeping their numbers in view.
