Tennis: PTF commences 1st Premier League

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) commenced their first ever Pakistan Premier League in Islamabad yesterday.


In group A, Wapda defeated Pakistan Seniors 3-0, as Jaleel Khan outplayed Gul Hameed 6-2, 6-3 and Yasir Khan defeated Mehboob Khan with the same score. Elsewhere, in group B, Punjab outclassed International Club 3-0 with Hira Ashiq’s victory over Sadanul Haq 6-2, 6-1 and Khurram Nazir’s straight-sets win over Abdul Shakoor 6-2, 6-3. Punjab’s third win in the tie came with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph in the doubles match.

Meanwhile, in group C matches, Pakistan Air Force defeated Sindh 3-0 and HEC won their first tie against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3-0.
