Earlier, Jamshed and skipper Misbahul Haq took Pakistan to 172 score off 38 overs.
Before the skipper came in, Jamshed and Younis Khan - with their 112 runs partnership – got 133 runs on the score board in 30 overs, with the loss of two wickets. Khan was then dismissed on the third ball of the next over.
In the beginning of the second inning, India got the upper-hand when Bhuvneshwar Kumar got Muhammad Hafeez out for a diamond duck.
The devastated Pakistani side crawled to the score of 52 runs after 16 overs at the loss of two wickets but the following Jamshed-Khan partnership brought the ball in Pakistan’s court.
Following the 1-1 Twenty20 win between Pakistan and India, the cricket rivals are back in the ground in the Indian city of Chennai.
Pakistan had won the toss and chose to field first.
First inning
India’s MS Dhoni led the team across the 200 runs line, finishing the innings at 227 runs at a loss of six wickets in the first Pakistan-India ODI on Sunday.
Partnered with Ashwin, Dhoni not only earned a century, but also crossed the 7,000 mark on runs in his ODI career.
Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni’s partnership came to an end at 102 runs when Muhammad Hafeez bowled Raina out in the 33rd over.
With only six overs left, India had scored 165 runs at the loss of six wickets.
In the first 10 overs, Pakistan – with its intense bowling attack – managed to bowl out the first five batsmen. India stood at 59 runs after 15 overs, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina on the crease.
Magnificent Junaid Khan took four wickets in just six overs, knocking down Virendar Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and RG Sharma.
The India tour, the first by Pakistan since 2007, began with two Twenty20 internationals with each won by both the teams.

IND played an excellent game and their recovery from 29-5 was remarkable. Dhoni played a superb innings but in the end the better team won. A thoroughly entertaining match. Look forward to the next game in Kolkata.
Junaid is an awesome bowler. Wish he was in Indian team :) Infact the entire Pakistani team has improved on all aspects of game. Small note on Irfan, he is a good bowler but should bend down a little while fielding. He mis-fielded 2-3 times which can be a spoiler. Indian players are over-confident these days, maybe too many T20s have spoiled them. Also, Indian team lacks good bowlers. Congrats to my Pakistani brothers!! This team can get you the next world cup.

Actually, the win- which was never in doubt- was not as great as the look on the Indian spectator's faces when Junaid and Irfan had reduced IND to 29 for 5. Priceless!

Azhar Ali 's addition to ODI team is a joke. He was an embarrassment today. He was a sitting duck and disaster waiting to explode and give his wicket away. Misbah also seems to have lost the love and determination that he used to have like we saw in the earlier matches in the UAE against England. He hasn't been the same since Pakistan lost those matches unexpectedly. Either he is unhappy with management or players he is not inspirational captain any more. In the next match let us see what Harris Suhail can do and drop Azhar and send him back to batting school and learn the technique.

Pakistan well played, as I already said bold decision of not playing Afridi paid off and Jamshed saw it through. India's problem is that they didn't rotate their old players and frankly speaking these players are content with money flowing into their account and have not tried to put any effort. Only Dhoni showed some guts and helped making an ok score.
Nice way to close off 2012. It was a good game, nice to see young Nasir Jamshed staying till the end.
I think Pakistan must replace Azhar Ali with Umar Akmal. Although, Pakistan's bowling has been good but if you see in this ODI as well as in the last T20 we gave away too many runs in the depth overs.
For India, I think they are seriously short of one more bowler.
Lets hope for an exciting cricket in the next 2 matches.

Congratulations to Pakistan team. Thanks for proving that ours is a better team than Indians. Normally man of the match award goes to winning side but Indian performances are very rare these days, therefore this injustice is excusable.

Listen, I honestly dont see anything wrong with Sanjay's comment. He simply saw something and pointed it out. I am from Pakistan mind you, and now that we have won the match, let's be a little graceful about it, shall we. It was a great cricket match, and both sides played good hard cricket. And of course, it always feels great to win against our arch rivals, esp. when it is on their own backyards. No point bullying/bad mouthing each other over.
Misbah's Wicket was the turning point. It cost India the match, if he batted any longer India would have won easily.
