Corruption: Cases registered against 5 cops

People’s Colony police officials had allegedly taken a Rs125,000 bribe in a murder case.

FAISALABAD: Cases were registered against five police officials on Saturday on charges of accepting bribes.

Anti Corruption Establishment officials said that they had received complaints against the officials – Inspector Zafar Iqbal, Sub Inspector Fazal Hussain and Head Constable Hikmat Ali of People’s Colony police station, Sub Inspector Muhammad Shafiq of Garh Maharaja police station and Sub Inspector Jaffar of Jaranwala Saddar police station.

He said that People’s Colony police officials had allegedly taken a Rs125,000 bribe in a murder case, SI Shafiq Rs10,000 in a robbery case and SI Jaffar Rs33,000 in another case.
