PESHAWAR:

A boys’ primary school was blown up by armed men in Mustharzai village in the jurisdiction of Badhaber Police on Wednesday night, locals said.

Residents said that heavily-armed men entered the village, two kilometres from the border of Khyber Agency and planted explosives in the school building.

The men took the watchman away and severely thrashed him, said a witness requesting anonymity. “The blast has left the building completely destroyed, but fortunately there were no casualties,” he said.

“Luckily there was no loss of life but the school building is destroyed,” confirmed an official of the Sheikhan police.  Residents blamed the police for having little control over security.

Meanwhile, another low-intensity cracker blast near a grid station in Board Bazaar created wide spread panic. According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, the blast only aimed to create panic.
