Mobilising youth: Pakistan Red Crescent Society holds youth camp

Volunteers from 18 schools in Karachi received training on how to give first aid and respond to emergencies.

A three-day volunteer camp, Youth on the Move, organised by Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) ended on Sunday.


This was the fifth session of the camp which is held annually. It aims to encourage the youth to engage in community service and serve the less fortunate without differentiation of class, colour or creed. Volunteers from 18 schools in Karachi received training on how to give first aid and respond to emergencies.

PRCS vice-chairperson, Farzhana Naek, said that young people can contribute to the betterment of society and the camp aimed at mobilising them. The vice-president of the organisation’s Sindh chapter, Sardar Yaseen Malik, said that the society encourages individuals to become better citizens by participating in volunteer work and developing their skills.
