Say rations reserved for the Mehsud tribe are given to IDPs of the Bhittani Tribe.

DI KHAN:

Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of the Mehsud tribe held a protest and blocked the road connecting Wana to DI Khan over what they said was unfair distribution of rations at Kashmir Chowk in Tank city.

They maintained that rations reserved for the Mehsud tribe are given to IDPs of the Bhittani Tribe. The protest, however, ended when the police reached the site and assured protesters of promptly addressing their concerns.

Mehsud IDPs from South Waziristan have settled in Tank and DI Khan districts since the Reh-e-Nejath operation in 2009. South Waziristan Agency Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) Coordinator Syed Umar, however, said rations were not distributed unfairly and that it was actually a misunderstanding among the two tribes.

He claimed that rations distributed among 873 families of Bittani Tribe had nothing to do with the Mehsud IDPs.
