Trade performance: Goods worth $68b exported in three years

Pakistan exports to US in year 2010-11 rose to $24.827 billion.

Senior Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Friday informed the Senate that Pakistan had exported goods worth $67.758 billion to the US during the last three years.


In a written statement during question hour, the minister said that Pakistani exports to the US in year 2009-10 were $19.290 billion. However, exports increased in the following year and Pakistan exported goods worth $24.827 billion in year 2010-11. He added that the country’s exports registered $23.641 billion during 2011-12.

He said that the government had taken steps for promotion of exports. He said that incentives have been given to boost exports such as concessionary financing, duty free import of raw material under temporary import scheme/Duty, Tax Remission on Exports (DTRE), duty drawback scheme, concessions in duty/taxes on import of machinery and raw material of priority export sectors, development of export clusters.
