SIUT team: Transplant athletes bag six medals

Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplant’s (SIUT) transplant athletes, from the 4th Middle East Transplant Games have returned home after bagging six medals including one gold, three silver medals and two bronze medals. According to a press release, over 150 transplant athletes representing 11 Middle Eastern countries took part in the four-day event.  A team of SIUT doctors were invited by the organisers, along with a 10-member contingent for participating in the games. SIUT has been sending their transplanted patients to various international events in the past. The philosophy behind the participation of these patients, to take part in sports and other social events, is to ensure that both the donor and recipient can lead a normal and a healthy life after the transplant procedures.
