December 19 protest: Paramedics plan Secretariat sit-in

PPA says many employees were not getting the risk allowance of Rs1,500.

LAHORE: The Punjab Paramedical Alliance (PPA), at a meeting on Sunday, decided to hold a sit-in at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on December 19. PPA Chairman Malik Munir said committees had been formed to organise the protest. He said that the alliance would also observe a strike and boycott the anti-polio campaign on December 19. He said that the chief minister had promised to regularise ad hoc employees and daily wagers, but had not done so yet. He said many employees were not getting the risk allowance of Rs1,500. He said paramedics from all districts of Punjab would arrive in Lahore on December 18 for the protest.
