Pk-22 charsadda: Candidates accepted for by-election

PESHAWAR: A returning officer on Friday rejected nomination papers for two candidates and accepted five others to contest by-elections in PK-22 Charsadda-VI constituency. According to a statement by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the papers of Haji Asadullah and Abdul Mohsin were rejected, while the nominations of Gohar Shah, Gul Yousaf, Raz Muhammad Durrani, Muhammad Shahid and Babar Ali Khan were accepted. The statement said that appeals can be filled till December 18 and that the final decision will be made by the election tribunal by December 24. The candidates can withdraw their candidature till December 26 and a final list will be displayed on December 27. The by-election is scheduled for January 15, 2013. The polls are being held in wake of MPA Muhammad Ali Khan’s death on November 3.
