The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which has been investigating the case, attached arrest warrants for the ex-president as well as some pieces of evidence, with the letter.
The Interpol’s office in France had earlier returned a similar request by the FIA, saying that incriminating material should be forwarded.
The evidence dispatched with the letter on Thursday included a statement by US Journalist Mark Siegel and records of emails sent by Musharraf to former premier Benazir Bhutto.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, FIA Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali confirmed that the letter had been dispatched.
Earlier, the UK government also denied the Pakistan government’s request to repatriate Musharraf as he was wanted in the case. UK authorities had said that there was no treaty between the two countries for the repatriation.
The agency had told a trial court hearing the case that Musharraf was found guilty of not providing enough security to Bhutto. Investigators had further claimed that the former president had been accused of threatening Bhutto.

. benazir was killed on his watch, . military takeover after being fired by the elected prime minister, . military alliance with George W an facilitating US invasion of Afghanistan, . infrastructure to USA for rone operations in Pakistan territory, and last but not least . assault o Gods House--Lal Mosque,
Proposed punishment, a ride on a donkey from Islamabad to Khyber pass and later handover to ICC for the missing locals and tourists who were handed over to USA as terrorist suspects.

@salim: "Can statement of an individual especially one of questionable integrity be treated as ‘evidence’??"
Remember Memo case that was built on only one witness, a foreigner with proven hatred toward Pakistan. Our three CJ of various HC went to chase him overseas first time in Pakistani history to take his statement. Mark has never written so much against Pakistan as MI had but still he became most credible darling of the rightwing. Mush has nothoing to fear if he has nothing to hide. The courts call people as witness and if they fail to appear then then issue warrants. It does not mean that he is proven guilty. Being a commando he should not run away and face the courts which are not pro PPP to say the least. Regards, M
@sterry...so ur a zardari's boy.
how dare you even think about it. He is the only honest leader Pakistan got in its history.
You want Musharraf then negotiate an extradition treaty like other countries do -- end of story. Of course once an extradition treaty is negotiated the UK will no longer be a safe haven for your political elite to abscond to with their ill gotten gains.
FIA has not provided any tangible evidence to date except "statement' of Mark Siegel. Can statement of an individual especially one of questionable integrity be treated as 'evidence'?? Go to prime time tv and you will see hundreds of "statements".
He has immunity.............he is an ex-Army Chief.
UK is the center of those corrupt and criminal officials of the third world countries, they bring or they deposit billions and make the British bankers fat and they are the ones who advise their government to keep these criminals with their looted money in Britain. If it was a British criminal living in Pakistan, Brits will be harping day and night to bring him or her back to the motherland and face the law of the land. And by the way what is stopping Pakistan and Britain to have extradition treaty so criminals like Mush could be extradited to face the music in Pakistan.
@shahid:
"There is no single individual more popular in Pakistan than Ex President Musharraf."
Is that why he sits in exile outside Pakistan, and keeps on extending his date of return? The only service he can provide this country now is to be hanged so that the khakis get the message once and for all.
What is the purpose of this drama ? .The government is trying to please whom and for what purpose. There is no evidence to implicate him in this case. Whatever Musharraf did was in best interest of Nation and Country. Accusing him in Bugti case or Lal masjid will deter any Pakistani official to take right and bold decisions if needed. There is no single individual more popular in Pakistan than Ex President Musharraf. He has done more for the country than all previous government combined with the exception of President Ayub khan.
Musharraf should be arrested for the illegal act of taking over as a dictator and not respecting his oath to uphold the constitution. All of Pakistan's current problems are due to his misrle during 9 years of dictatorship.
