GUJRANWALA:

A woman has filed an FIR against an SHO for demanding a bribe. The complainant, Ghulam Fatima said that Jinnah Road SHO Mohammad Iqbal had registered a fake case against her brother Mohammad Nawaz a month ago and arrested him.

Fatima alleged that the official had then demanded Rs10,000 from the family to release Nawaz. After the family could not, Fatima said in her complaint, the ASI beat up her brother in custody. The family then approached a local court, requesting that the police be directed to get a medical exam conducted. The police official, said Fatima, demanded that she buy him a 1.5 litre bottle of cola and to credit his mobile number with Rs200. After she had accepted his demands, he still did not get a medical exam of her brother conducted.
