clear change in reporting style of ET !!! surrendered to the pressure or else ??
@Hasan. If you know pakistani history, these so called agencies never want things to be peaceful in our country for one reason or another. When things are getting better they themselves cause issues. On the 9th and 10th Mohurram, the situation was very tense in Karachi yet there were no issues. How come? and from 11th Mohurram same target killings started. Everyone involved in this mess will be responsible to God. This world is only temporary so just keep dreaming that you will live forever.
the count just keep ticking ! Last year it was close to 2000, and we are determined to cross the limit by year end. I feel aghast as to what our police and forces doing. Just shows how incompetent, callous, useless are our agencies and forces, who cannot even protect a city, and make tall claims of protecting border. Why are 50% of our tax money is paid on these agencies?
Government has no control.
The culprits have gone out of the hands.
Are we waiting for help from some foreign country to eleminate the target killings in Karachi?
It is an utter shame that violence has gripped Karachi. May God rest their souls. I would also kindly urge the journalist(s) involved in this report to 'professionalize' your writing standards - for instance, calling the deceased doctor by his first name 'Doctor Zubair' is extremely unprofessional and very inappropriate for such a tragic event.
Perhaps the Tribune should organize workshops for the people writing these reports on your writing standards (look at how the BBC presents its stories on local news and other events). The human tragedy in Karachi is appalling, and it would seem that most of the individuals killed/injured aren't worthy - I doubt that if these people were 'gunned down' in posher parts of the city, a completely different picture would emerge.
I sincerely hope that anyone moderating these comments would pass this onto your editor - please humanize your stories, and make them more professional. Talk about what the police is doing, who the suspects might be (descriptions, etc) - I know that 'this is Pakistan' but surely you can raise the bar in your editorial approach?
