The royal couple hopes to be more hands-on with their child than generations in the past and want to break royal tradition.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are still more than six months away from welcoming their new bundle of joy, but they already know how they want to raise their child — and full-time help is not in the plan!

Tradition among the royal household has always been to have full-time child care for the children. William was famously close to his nanny Olga Powell, who was by his side his whole childhood. He cancelled engagements earlier this year to go her funeral, reports hollywoodlife.com.

They may hire a part-time nanny help to serve as a babysitter when the royal couple is busy with engagements, and Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton will also lend a helping hand whenever they can. “They will, probably, use a part-time nanny to help them out when they have to attend events and have a babysitter, but they don’t want a full-time nanny,” a friend said.
