Private trip: PM visits spiritual mentor in Haripur

According to the Pir, the prime minister visited him regularly and asked for prayers for his success.

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Sunday paid a visit to Ghazi tehsil in Haripur district to meet his spiritual mentor Pir Abdul Hameed Khan of Kundi Umerkhana.


Though Ashraf had frequented the Pir’s home many times, this was his first visit since assuming the office of prime minister. He stayed with the Pir for over an hour and shared a meal with him.

According to the Pir, the prime minister visited him regularly and asked for prayers for his success. In return, the premier had announced development schemes for Ghazi tehsil during his years as the federal minister for water and power. He was accompanied by MNA Sardar Mushtaq Khan.

During the visit, the prime minister parried questions posed by media personnel. While answering questions he announced that a grant of Rs1 million had been allocated for a press club in Ghazi tehsil for the benefit of journalists in the area.
