Targeted attacks: School blown up in Charsadda

Wilayat Shah SHO Saro Kallay said that around 6:30pm a huge explosion was heard in Malik Hashim Kallay.

CHARSADDA: A government-run boys middle school was destroyed when explosives planted at the  building in Aqrab Daag area in Charsadda, went off on Wednesday.

Wilayat Shah SHO Saro Kallay said that around 6:30pm a huge explosion was heard in Malik Hashim Kallay. Police  rushed to the site of the bombing to find that a bomb planted near the boundary wall of the building had been detonated.

“Three rooms were partially damaged while glass from the windowpanes have been destroyed,” the SHO added, saying that the bomb disposal squad officials were also informed about the incident. “No FIR has been registered as yet,” Shah said, adding that the watchman of the school was absent from duty at the time.
