Hunting down IEDs: Police recover bomb parts from Peshawar warehouse

Large quantities of chemicals and items used in making bombs recovered from a warehouse in Chamkani.

PESHAWAR: Police raided a warehouse in the suburban area of Chamkani on Wednesday evening and recovered a truck laden with parts and chemicals used in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices by terrorists.

Police said that they had found a long range wireless set, 13 wireless batteries, 52 wireless receivers, 12 bags full of primer chords and hundreds of kilogrammes of potassium chloride, used in explosives.

Two people were also reportedly arrested but the police declined to comment on the matter.

“The warehouse is owned by Haji Salam Khan and it was raided after intelligence reports said that explosives and other parts used in the production of bombs had been brought and stored there in huge quantities,” said an official of the Chamkani police station.

“Further investigation is underway and we can not share anything with the media at this point,” he said.
