According to details, three men came to visit the prayer leader Ahsanullah while he was in a seminary. One of the three killed the prayer leader while his accomplices waited outside. However, as they attempted to flee, their motorbike malfunctioned.
This allowed those present in the seminary to apprehend the killer before handing him over to officers from the Bilal colony police station. His accomplices though managed to escape.
Panic gripped the area soon after the killing.
While near Numaish Chowrangi, angered relatives and traders protested against a targeted killing in the city.
Reportedly a man was killed today while he was at his workshop for routine work.
The protesters demanded that killers should be immediately arrested and the trend of target killing should be brought to an end.
Police and Rangers are present in the area to keep the situation under control.
Few unidentified men also torched a car. Fire brigade was called in to extinguish the fire.
Due to the protest, the roads leading to the chowrangi are blocked, which has badly affected the traffic flow.

We keep ignoring the overpopulation problem. The more population grows, the more things will fall out of control.
@Kaalchakra: I really do not understand how exactly are they following Islam. EVERY religion teaches pretty much the same thing. Be good and stay away from evil but we Muslims have this superiority complex that Islam is somehow better than all these other religion. Brother, do you not think that the follower of other religions feel that their religion is right? Even Israelis, the nation condemned by the Muslims, are doing better than Muslim countries. Lets not drag religion into every little thing. Islam has nothing to do with failures or successes of countries. Should we start blaming Islam for countries like Somanlia, Afghanistan, Sudan or even Pakistan? And how in heaven's name will you justify successful countries like China, Japan or Sweden. Are they secretly Muslim and pretend to be otherwise? Come on, man.
iLiberal, my brother, you failed to grasp the fine theological point made by Disgusted. Europe may be 'Christian' and East Asian countries may be 'Buddhist' in name, but their advancements come because they follow Islam. Pakistan is a Muslim country in name, but its problems arise because it does not follow Islam.
@samonrusty: Well written, good job. Please keep it up !!
@Babablacksheep: you are good.
@Disgusted: I do agree with some of the things you have pointed out in your comment. That the nation indeed does not have any moral character and is a mob of liars, cheats, thugs, etc. however it does have anything to do with religion. Had this been a fact then all the non Islamic countries would had vanished from this planet. Infact, this chumminess with religion has been one of the reasons with the current follies of Pakistan.
Europe and the Americas are Christian nations. The Far Eastern Asian block is mostly Buddhist. And the fact remains that they are one of the most progressive and respected countries of the world. I doubt you'd be able to name a single Islamic nation which can compete with the likes of the US, Britain, Western Europe, Far East, etc. Why does everything have to boil down to religion. No offence my friend but you actually do sound like a Mullah. The fact is that Pakistanis are a violent bunch and it is in our very nature to behave like this.
Days like Moharram 9th 10th , Media doesn't report well paid and well controlled.
Ask any constable in Karachi will tell you the truth but media and Government wouldn't do anything about it. Since our COAS says no need for Amry Op in khi which shows how much nation is interested in resolving this issue.
We will see that the courts will release him for lack of evidence.
Guy who ordered this Murder is sitting in London, paid by Raw !
Let's see if they can apprehend the gang behind the killing. Limus test for the Sindh Govt.
@samonrusty:
"One day rim jhim jhum jhum my pair is phisling gir gia hum is liay fidvi can`t come one day chotti mungta hum"
pls remove errors and make it more precise:D
Welcome to the UnIslamic Republic of Pakistan. If you look into the history it will tell you that a Nation that is living in such pathetic conditions actually brought it on themselves. The world does not feel sorry for the Nation of Pakistan.
Why should anyone feel sorry for people who have no national character, no sense of morality and ethics and no regard for others. Yes, the pathetic education system is to blame but ask Pakistanis to pay tax and they walk away. The tax collection serves as the personal income for those in power. So once again, since the nation is impotent and unwilling to change, no one outside of this pathetic country cares about what happens to this gutter of humanity.
People of Pakistan think that they are being challenged by God and eventually they will be given victory. That is so laughable because nothing could be furthest from the truth. They are not being challenged they are being punished in the most classical sense. Mass starvation, corrupt leaders, mass murders and the list goes on. Pakistanis need to ask the obvious question - which of the commands of God did they break to be given this sort of punishment?
Given the state of affairs, it must be the biggest violation which means Pakistanis must have broken the commandment that says that you will not commit SHIRK. I know that some readers are now shaking their heads because I sound like a Mullah. What you all to recognize is that having Mullahs in your culture is SHIRK. Walking around supporting beards because you think it's part of Islam is SHIRK. Quoting HADITH from books written by Zoroastrian Persians is SHIRK. Putting up names other than God's name is Shirk. Celebration of Muharram or shab-e-barat is Shirk. Celebration of Eids thinking that these are given as a gift by God is Shirk because there is no mention of them in Quran. The list of Shirk in Pakistani culture goes on. And I am no Mullah. I am the polar opposite of a Mullah. So before anyone discounts what I just wrote here as typical religious rhetoric I suggest you read it again.
The most pathetic Muslims are those that commit the most Shirk which basically means the entire Muslim world.
Here is something strange - militarily Pakistan can wipe Saudi Arabia off the face of this earth in matter of hours but Saudis treat Pakistanis as if Pakis are toilet cleaners. Why???
I am willing to bet that nothing will change and eventually this pathetic nation of Pakis is going to parrish. This country was founded based on lies. Jinnah was nothing more than a lawyer but this idiotic nation started to worship him.

Tribune editors don't have time to edit every user's comments. If you understand what he was trying to convey then the rest of us can too. We are not all expert in English language here.
anyways i don't think we have any sincere political party in pakistan specially in karachi. they would let their gangster kill others for any gain. human life has no value in pak. they can do whatever they want in this world but I swear God has severe punishment ready for them.
@ANP it is something which is the responsibility of Government WHICH everyone knows who they are.......... its strange that there was no target killings and robing during first 10 days of Muharram !!!!!! the Killers was on holidays?
@samonrusty: Challo ub free ungraizee sabaks been offered by this dude. Dude don't worry about how someone is expressing his or her views. For a change, try to understand the thought behind it.
Ask MQM about this.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: I have attempted to rewrite your letter to remove errors of grammar and make it more precise; something I thought the letters editor at the Tribune would have done:
" Can Karachi ever become a peaceful city? No, I don't think so.
I expect more killings as the elections draw closer.
May the Almighty save us all. Ameen. "
PS: Clocks tick; they don't click
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: Aameen.
Can Karachi will ever become a peaceful city?
No. I don't think so.
I am expecting more killings with the passage of time as the clock has started clicking and every passing day is bring the general elections close day by day.
May Al-Mighty Allah save us all. Aameen.
