New provinces: Parliamentary commission meeting called on Dec 10

A parliamentary commission meeting has been called on December 10 on the creation of new provinces in Punjab, Express News reported on Wednesday.

Earlier, it was learned that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) plans to introduce a constitutional amendment which would strengthen the role of parliament in the creation of new provinces.

At present, dividing a province requires support of two-thirds of the respective provincial assembly.

Sindhi members of the party have reservations over the federation acquiring such powers as it could result in the division of Sindh as well.

The opposition, however, believes that it is all “political sloganeering”.

Why this debate is triggered whenever the PPP government needs face-saving??? **Why are the PPP & MQM interested in Seraiki province only??? What if the demands strengthen from South Sindh? Junoobi Pakhtoonkhwa? Hazara? Tribalistan?? As said by its ally Mushahid Hussain Lota, PPP has only one motto: "Lutto Te Phutto" !!!
