The FIR # 1096/12 was registered on instances of trespassing on burial places, punishment for dacoity, mischief and criminial intimidation and trespassing for assault or wrongful restraint.
Earlier, around 12 to 15 men, carrying arms and digging tools, entered the graveyard in Model Town, Q Block, between 1:30am and 1:45am and smashed tombstones of the graves, according to witnesses.
The vandals told the caretakers that Ahmadis, being non-Muslims, were not allowed to write the Kalima or Bismillah on their tombstones.
The armed men tied around 20 people – including visitors and families of the caretakers and the guard – with ropes and locked them up in the living quarters of the graveyard before starting vandalism.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) also condemned the incident and demanded the alleged vandals to be brought to book.

"A state can be ruled by disbelieve but can't be ruled without justice", said by Hz.ALI rz.Lets wait and see if a Muslim country can do justice????? Prophet Muhammed saw. did not allowed the humiliation of dead bodies of kafireen, who humiliated the dead body of His uncle. And look at the deeds of these people who claim to be his certified followers.Shame on such Muslims.
hmmm...FIR...i hope and pray that it goes beyond the status of just an information report..
Thanks to the police who were kind enough to register an FIR. i wonder if the saw from their own eyes the KALIMA shattered and laid on the ground....what a shame
@Naseer Ahmad
You think " no further action will be taken on this FIR " . Wrong . Some Ahmadis
will be taken into protective custody by the police , and made to rot in jail
for indefinite period .
@Humble Muslim: Ahmadi Muslims have no expectaions from this FIR. We know that PPP or the PML-N or any other political party or the Punjab police will not come to our aid. But we do have Allah on our side and we expect him to deliver us from these fanatical murderers and mischief mongers. Since ever, PPP and later on Zia ul Haq started state led oppression against us, we have quietly prayed to Allah and Allah alone do we ask for help.
As far as the country of Pakistan is concerned, our love and affection has not dwindled. History is witnness to our role in the creation and struggle for Pakistan. Our service to Pakistan in both amred forces and the civil administration is well documented. Unfortunately, it saddens us to see the destruction of Pakistan cased by these fanatics, slowy but surely. It saddens us to see the reputaion of Pakistan being tarnished abroad by the actions of these mischief mongers. And for those isolated incidents where someone decent like you is willing to stand up for justice and honesty, I take my hats off and beleive, maybe there is still hope for the existence of our homeland.
Constitution has declared Ahmedis non-muslims. Dr. Khan, Moshin-e-Pakistan has declared Ahmedis traitors. In the TV talk show hosted by Amin Liaquat Hussain, he said that his birth place, Bhopal, in India is known for two things. One it did not produce any traitors and another there were no Ahmedis. These proclamations are from the educated and elite class.
Nothing will happen. People get away with murder in land of the pure and these are graves. Height of Jihalat and Madness.
@Salman: And that religious obsession has made them so mad that they are tearing apart their own religious texts. This is the utter height of insanity! Should I laught at it?
FIR is always registered against unknown men. But who are these unknown men??? This is a mystery which will never be solved.
I really dont know whats more moronic. The fact that the people who claim to be "protecting" their religion destroying their own religious texts and leaving it torn. Or the fact that, people in this country fight over the mythological-like stories of the past. This society is doomed until it figures out a way to not-to-live in the past and to root out religious obsession!
FIR is hogwash. No body ever took any action against sectarian hatred in this country, nobody ever will. This is a doomed nation of hypocrites and cowards who cannot even respect their dead what to talk of their daughters and mothers.
FIR against the ghosts, who will catch them ?
Ahmadis say ‘Love for all hatred for none”.. while the so called taliban minded people are giving a totally divergent view of Islam which goes like “Love for nobody, hate for everyone and hate for even dead……”…. Allah is seeing all this hatred and such heineous and demonic acts only show the amount of disrespect such hateful people have for Islam, ethics and social norms…………
1) Bismillah" is not a "copyright" for specific Pakistani sects. "Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem" was also used by Prophet Solomon when he wrote to Queen Sheba centuries before Islam.
2) "Masjid" is an arabic word meaning place of worship. The "word" masjid is also used in the Quran for the early christians of the cave and also for the hyprocrites of Medina.
3) The Ahmadi Muslisms of Pakistan should not expect much from their persecutors which include the secular PPP Government, the "no fear" Punjab Police, the multi-sects Ulemas and unfortunately the large silent majority.
people buried in the graves might had different creed but the inscriptions of holy text written on the tombstone were at least their own (sic). Apparently, the desecration to stop desecration.I guess if its not stopped in time then fortunate would be the people in the graves than above them.
I am ashamed and sorry.
@Asif , we 'normally' have a setup where caretaker and his family live in a small house constructed within boundary of a graveyard or mosques.
Just read following and compare how on one side Pakistani religious extremists destroying peace and this Pakistani Origin religious leader striving hard for restoration of Internaitonal peace. On 04.12.2012 in the afternoon, an historic keynote address by the world leader of an Ahmadiyya community, to be delivered in the European Parliament, will urge politicians to seek faith-inspired solutions for conflicts rooted in geo-political causes. With the unfolding conflict in the Middle East clearly in mind, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, supreme Head of the Ahmadiyya Community, will tackle head-on the issue of eliminating extremism and promoting peace based on international justice. The Ahmadiyya Community is established in 200 countries and is one of the oldest communities across Europe and America. His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad is the worldâs leading religious figure promoting peace. His addresses delivered around the world, including Capitol Hill and Westminster, have advocated ways to broker peace in an increasingly globalized and conflict-ridden world. Fundamentally, His Holiness calls for the quest for justice to be put on a par with peace. He stresses that true justice springs from faith and that revealed scriptures, which millions of people hold dear, provide the framework for delivering that very justice they seek. His Holiness said: The establishment of world peace is the most vital and pressing issue facing the world today. However, the truth is that peace and justice are inseparable â you cannot have one without the other. There is little doubt that restlessness and anxiety is increasing in the world, and so disorder is spreading, which is a clear indication that somewhere along the line the requirements of justice are not being fulfilled. World political leaderships have their creative and intelligent minds focused on ideas, plans and indeed a vision of peace. Thus, this issue does not require me to speak from a worldly or political perspective; instead my entire focus will be based on how to establish peace based on religion. For this purpose I shall present some very important guidelines based on the teachings of the Holy Qurâan. His Holiness will deliver his address at the European Parliament, Brussels, on Tuesday 4 December. Hosted by The European Parliament âFriends of the Ahmadiyya Muslimsâ Group, the event will be chaired by Dr Charles Tannock MEP with Vice-Chairs Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP, Tunne Kelam MEP and Claude Moraes MEP.
The FIR is merely a legal formality. The real FIR is in the court of Allah, the Almighty. Who can run away from His justice? Time will tell. Oh Allah, we belong to You and seek Your help and protection against all evils and the brains behind evils.
In this country there is no justice and nothing will come out after fir.Allah will do justice and then there will be no escape for these people in this world and in next one.insaallah
Truly sad. What good is a judiciary or a police force that willfully looks the other way when such acts of vanadalism occur. Where is the government in all of this? Pakistan is rapidly heading into a darkness from which it may never re-appear. Why is it, that of all the muslim countries, it is one, if not the most least developed, most economically deprived and most maligned. Until it rids itself of the extremism and intolerence that prevails in all echelons of society, there is no hope for Pakistan.
Any suo motto?
As if something would happen further to this FIR ?
Sad incident. Punjab Government should come into action. These hate mongers must be given an exemplary punishment. All the citizens of various faiths are patriotic citizens of Pakistan with equal rights and it is the duty of the Provincial and Federal Governments to protect their rights.
What were we expecting when we demanded a separate country for Muslims but forgot to define who actually is a Muslim.
Even the drones are too little too late now, what we desperately need are a few atomic bombs.
sad sad sad state of affairs.
Extremism finally creeps into "upscale neighborhood of Lahore". Do we plan to wake up at all?
What do you expect when the Punjab govt is in cahoots with Shia killers; persecution of minorities!
What is most important is whether the instigators and culprits were named in the FIR or was this just a cosmetic exercise to soothe ruffled feathers and filed against unnamed persons
Lawlessness and violence has now become a permanent feature of our society. No further action will be taken on this FIR.
At last!!
I hope I hope Hope is all I have that justice will be done
Yet another feather in our hat of hate.
lets see if the government do something against the plea or leave it upon the Quaid's shoulders..because he struggled for a separate homeland.
Thanks a lot for saving Islam big time!! If CM Punjab doesn't consider even this enough to go and just condole with Ahmadi's (any commitment for safety and security would be too much obviously), congrats! He has the just perfect character to lead the nation.
Finally - the authorities decide to act....lets see how serious they are and if they actually catch someone. This was a shameful act by shameful people who have no idea of what Islam means
Lets wait for action on FIR
