Watan Party files petition in Supreme Court to ban NGOs

LAHORE: Barrister Zafar Ullah Khan of the Watan Party filed a petition before the Supreme Court, seeking an immediate ban on activities of all the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in the country in addition to complete inquires over their audits and agendas.

He filed this petition before the Lahore registry of the SC stating that there was no information about the NGOs working in Pakistan as to their purpose and their acquisition and allocation of funds.

The barrister alleged that the operation of NGOs is dubious and is to blame for lawlessness in Balochistan, Karachi and other parts of the country.

Khan also stated that there were no audits of NGOs, arguing for more transparency over how NGOs are financed and on their expenditures.

The federal government and the Ministry of Religious Affairs were made respondents in this petition.

Yes, stop anyone and everyone from even thinking about bringing women education, health and well being, sustenance & life opinions from under the iron claws of extremists. Stop all progress in its tracks. The worst shape and condition the people are in the better the chances for extremists and Taliban to prove their agenda is the Only option while looking like the saviors from God. I say overhaul the engine ASAP where ever possible.
