Work on more than 1,038 development projects is underway in Faisalabad district under the Annual Development Programme at a cost of Rs 9.33 billion.
Acting DCO Waheed Akhtar Ansari said this while speaking at a meeting of the heads of various departments of the city district government here on Friday.
He said major schemes had already been completed while the heads of departments had been directed to finish the rest before the end of January 2013.
WASA Managing Director Zahid Aziz said nine water supply and sewerage schemes were being undertaken at a cost of Rs528 million and over 93 per cent of the work on them had been completed.
He said two new schemes would be launched at a cost of Rs100 million.
Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Managing Director Ashiq Dogar said Rs222 million were being spent on the development of parks and green belts.
Additional District Collector Syed Bilal Haidar said heads of all departments had been advised to strictly adhere to government instructions for an expeditious recovery of revenues.
