Violence against women highlighted in mixed media show

The exhibition, and events connected to the 16 days of activism will continue till December 10.

ISLAMABAD:


Nomad Art gallery played host to a mixed media exhibition to mark the beginning of 16 days of activism against gender violence on Saturday.


The event, organised by Nomad Events in collaboration with UN Women, is in support of UN Women’s global effort to highlight violence against women in all forms, including the social and psychological impact, especially on women who are afraid or unwilling to come forward to bring their abusers to justice.

The participating artists and photographers include Anjum Ayub, Arjumand Awan, Samreen Asif, Riffat Khattak, Ahmed Habib, NH Kazmi, Zahra Kazmi, Tabassum Rizvi, Munaf Khan, Nadeem Ahmad, Humaira, Manizha Janbaaz, Zia Zaidi, M Azhar Hafeez, Muhammad Javaid, Sohail Shehzad and S Mehdi.

A crafts exhibition to support and endorse the work of community artisans, human rights defenders, and victims of violence was also held. The exhibition, and events connected to the 16 days of activism will continue till December 10.
