ISLAMABAD: In order to resolve issues faced by the business community, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and Islamabad police on Thursday agreed to improve liaison.

Businessmen favoured the revival of the reconciliation committee and said regular interaction between the business community and the police would make the system more efficient. ICCI President Zafar Bakhtawari said establishment of barriers inconveniences commuters and traders who travel inter-city, he said.

Bakhtawari said there was a need to modify unnecessary pickets and barriers.

Special Branch Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Waqar Chohan said measures are being taken to encourage community policing, he added.
