India claims Pakistan violated ceasefire again, targeted 10 posts
According to a report by Indian news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), the firing on Sunday night was the heaviest this year and came ahead of the ninth anniversary of the Indo-Pak ceasefire agreement. The border truce had come into force on November 26, 2003.
“Pakistan troops opened heavy fire with Medium Machine Guns and Heavy Machine Guns on 10 Indian forward posts along LoC in Krishnagati sub-sector of Poonch district last night,” PRO Defence SN Acharya was quoted as saying.
He added that the Indian Army troops guarding the border retaliated resulting in an exchange of fire, but there was no loss of life or property. The firing, however, triggered a forest fire along the Line of Control which was put off by the army with the help of locals, he said.
Indian forces had earlier claimed that Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in Uri sector last month and then refused India’s request of a flag meeting.
India has persistently claimed that the ceasefire violations from Pakistan were meant to assist infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan.

India most likely provoked the firing and it got a reply in kind. Moral of story: India must stop its dirty business or else the reply won't be pacifist!
I wonder what the Kashmiri seperationists and Pakistanis think about the part of Kashmir occupied by China. That is certainly never going to be a part of Azad Kashmir. India generally takes a very soft stand. How about you challenge a nation like China which has no conscience or soul and believes in ruthless agreesion. Its high time that the Indian government like the Pakistani government starts creating a brand of their own "Non-State Actors". Give Pakistan a taste of their own medicine. Eye for an eye will make the whole world blind but "laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahi mante"
@Its (still) Econonmy Stupid: The excuse to remove some troops from the Western border and deploy them on the Eastern front is probably not working. The Western border is not safe anymore. If Pakistan leaves the Western front unguarded, Taliban will usurp much larger areas than they ave done now. So the bogey of trouble on the eastern front is not paying. Pak army is in disarray as it has differences with the US, Executive, Legislature, Press, Judiciary and the Taliban (both TTP as well as Afghans). It is only the Haqqani group that supports it.

6000 bullets? I guess India has a grandpa sitting in an arm chair at every border taking counts of every bullet you know like those Tennis referees. "Oh look, did you see that bullet, yep, there goes another one". We should get some on our border too.

It is ONLY to disrupt the peace between India and Pakistan! Pakistan Army should NOT be firing at a country the government in coming into peace with. Pathetic. The army will never want this because they still want to eat 70 percent budget due to the 'threat' of war from India.

These violations are to show the world that Eastern border in not peaceful. This gives an excuse for not committing troops for WOT and operation in N W etc.

The shelling illustrates the dichotomy between the Civilain Govt that shouts for an uniterruptible peace process and the GHQ that wants peace process punctuated by bursts of terror. After all if there is no "India"bogey who will pay any respect to the Paki Army? So for those looking a way out, frankly there is none. Pakistan means perpetual violence and occasional peace.
So is the US going to stand by India, and it's right to defend itself?

Whenever Shias are targeted within Pakistan, someone in Pindi wants to put a stop to soul-searching or recriminations by raising the Indian bogey. This is very normal, guys.

This is the problem of Pakistanis. We don't retaliate much to these shelling. But the problems occurs when these Pakistani soldiers are deployed to the other side of Pakistan border, i.e Pak-Afghan. There they do similar stupid activity and then Salala happens. Then whole of Pakistan goes in trauma. :-)
Seems someone (not every one) in Pindi is not really happy about Delhi and Islamabad coming together. Now that Mumbai 26/11 like disruptions are less palatable due to internation sactions threat, keeping guns warm across the LoC seems to be best option....
