7 killed in blast targeting DI Khan Muharram procession
“It was a homemade bomb which was kept inside a pressure cooker and planted in the garbage,” an official of the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) told The Express Tribune.
It has also been learnt that mobile phones were working at the time of the blast, but were later blocked in DI Khan.
“Around 10kg explosive material was used in the bomb and ball bearings were found during the collection of evidence.”
Khalid Baloch of the District Headquarters Hospital DI Khan said that the injured also included a police official and children, adding that some of the injured were in serious condition.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police, Qazi Jamilur Rehman told media persons that security had been enhanced after the incident and all Muharram processions will go ahead as scheduled. He added that police personnel, including Frontier reserves and Elite personnel will provide security.
Police had cordoned off the area after the incident and had launched a search operation. A suspect was arrested from the site and shifted to an unknown location for further investigations, a police official said.
Army personnel were called in and deployed on different routes for Muharram processions. Roads were deserted after the incident.
No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

The only solution is to attack the nurseries where these bombs and attackers are being prepared.

Since Pakistan doesn't even manufacture needles, I wonder if these ball bearings are china-made.
we can't neglect the collusion and co-ordination of police constables in this regard. who are often seen biased towards criminals for their own benefit. police constabulary lacks the true sense of sincerity doesn't recognize sensitivity of its job. so far officers, are somewhat ok in this regard.
No constitutional plan would be workable or acceptable to the Shias unless geographical contiguous units are demarcated into regions which should be so constituted with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary. That the areas in which the Shias are numerically in majority as in the North-Western and Eastern zones of Pakistan should be grouped to constitute independent states in which the constituent units shall be autonomous and sovereign

Mobile phones' services are blocked,pillion-riding and motorbike riding have been banned and this bomb blast happened but how and why whereas Rehman Malik blocked mobiles and banned motorbike riding to control the terrorists and terrorism and claimed that the terrorists would not be succeeded in their negative designs? Does Rehman Malik cerebrate that blocking the mobiles' phone services and banning the pillion riding are the only solutions of over coming the terrorism?????? How long Rehman Malik shall depend upon the temporary solutions of controlling the terrorists and over coming the terrorism in Pakistan?
The bomb must have planted few days earlier on the route Moharram procession and was detonated through remote control when the Moharram procession was passing through.
Though the Government has made adequate arrangements but there may be places which may have been overlooked by the law enforcing agencies and the people living in that particulr area.
This is the second incident today in DI Khan after the incident of Laki Marwat where a suicide bomber was killed by the Police when he opened fire and consequently the suicide bomber was exploded.
so much for the govt's childish techniques to prevent terrorism.. If they have banned everything, why did this still happen? Rehman Malik must explain this now.
