Overcharging: Crackdown launched
Eight vehicles seized and 19 given tickets on Friday
GUJRAT:
The district administration has launched a crackdown on transporters overcharging the passengers in the district. Eight vehicles were seized and 19 given tickets on Friday. Regional Transport Authority Secretary Shuja Qutab Bhatti said the district administration had determined fares for all routes in view of the fuel prices. He said the motor vehicles examiner had been directed to ensure all vans and buses display the tariff. He warned the transporters not to overcharge passengers. He appealed to the citizens to report those overcharging them so that action could be taken against them.
