Controlling disease: ‘5,000 people die every year of rabies’

90 per cent of these deaths can be prevented by timely vaccination.

LAHORE: As many as 5,000 people die annually from rabies infections in Pakistan, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Prof Dr Athar Khan said on Wednesday. Khan said 90 per cent of these deaths can be prevented by timely vaccination. He said there was a need to create awareness about how to prevent rabies infections.
