He expressed his approval of Imran Khan’s decision to take part in the next general election during the Pakistan Leaders of Tomorrow conference in Islamabad, adding that he is certain that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief will be a positive force for politics in the country. "I am confident his inclusion will have a positive impact on politics of Pakistan."
Bilawal also spoke about Nawaz Sharif and called him an ally in supporting democracy in Pakistan.
Unite against terrorism
Bilawal called upon all political parties to collectively fight for eradicating terrorism from Pakistan.
The PPP chairman highlighted that both the Awami National Party (ANP) and the PPP have suffered from terrorism. He further stated that despite his party’s past differences with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), they are ready to set aside their differences and unite against a common enemy.
Bilawal added that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been a part of PPP’s joint efforts to end Taliban rule in Swat.
He stated that the political parties must fight to protect Jinnah's Pakistan from the threat of the Taliban.
Drone strikes
During his speech, Bilawal unequivocally stated his opposition to drone strikes.
He condemned US, calling the CIA operated programme a violation of international laws.

PTI is indeed the Bteam of PPP.
@Mirza I agree with you on manners of speech of BB but he is not a LEADER at all ! Just becuase he is some of BNB and grandson of ZAB does not make him a leader... i think more suited word to describe his political positon is "imported monarch".
@ Sheikhupura Despite vulgarism that is seated in your comment... It is Awesome... Kudos ET.
It looks more of a statesman's statement rather than a politician's. It, certainly, will be a new trend of politics in Pakistan, if practiced honestly. With all our personal differences and grudges against each other, this looks the only way to take democracy further and survive as a civilized nation. Though it can be that his party, may, will need partners for a coalition govt after the coming elections and he is just using a trick to make alliances with other parties to make the government. But if they are only using a trick to do that, every one knows that these things don't last long and soon they will face their fate. Generally speaking, as a metaphor, this will be the the most practical form/ and or course of action for the future politicians who, really, want to be statesmen, who are needed most in Pakistan now than ever, and not the kind which exists already. Politicking was/is never hard, what is hard and needed, at this crucial juncture of the history, is to produce the breed of statesmen, trained and seen in the gymnasiums of Athens. A 'Philosopher king' is a term, we consider phenomenal but. in fact, where did the politics come from. Is it not a produce of these long discussions and thinking? As per our experience, during our life on this planet, everything which comes to practice, is a mere thought first, in someone's mind. Then why should not we hope that, at some point, we will have the statesmen who think of giving a civilized shape to the idea of 'governing the people'? Like Hazrat Rabia Basri (R) said, " let's do good for the sole purpose of goodness, apart from getting some thing in return". Let's hope that even if this is a trick on the part of Bilawal Benazir Bhutto, other statesmen, may, learn from it and change their attitude towards the 'way of governance'. Let's hope! No harm in it!
I believe its a very mature statement by Bilawal. I've seen him speak on few occasions and he impressed me with his statesmanship. If this is the future of PPP, which it is, then I believe PPP can be a force to reckon with. Way to go... Bilawal.
As for IK/PTI supporters... all the best in the coming elections. But please dont be too disappointed if the tsunami doesnt sweep the country. There is always next time.
He is probably expecting his Dad's defeat in next general election so making grounds for combined lotta party to stay in power!!!! Good effort though!!!! ;)
ET is presently the best paper available in Pakistan.Gives factual and unbiased news which is the sign of a good journalism.
I am no fan of PPP or ANY of its contemporary leaders by any stretch of imagination but I admire Bilawal for his inclusive statement.
@Mirza, you put it well, I agree with you, sir.
I think IK supporters should appreciate this good gesture from the Chairman of PPP rather than making fun or cracking jokes as their leader does day in and day out. He could have said lot about the past and present of their leader and this shows maturity of this young leader in favor of above 60 years Old Comedian.
Will rule you like a Boss!
PPP will win again and this young man is their trump card.
The kid is more wiser than noora and tsunami, and PPP will win again.
Balawal and his Daddys statements clearly show that PPP is going to stay in power at least until NATO stays in Afghanistan. They have already been informed.
Mafahimat ki siyasat? You can fool some people all the time, all people for some time, But you can't fool all people all the time! There should be an end to dynastic politics and hereditary leadership.
@mirza, have 2 agree with u .its a very mature statement by a young leader.old politicians including imran khan ( who likes 2 make fun of pakistani politicians every now and then )needs 2 learn a thing or 2 4m bilawal .
well done PTI you got moral support openly, from where you were getting money under the table
Yes Mr. Bilawal Zardari is right - positive influence only when he and his daddy steps down and hold elections within the PPP secretive structures. May be someone will take up this issue with the Supreme Court.
@Sheikhupura: "Chummi* L baba ka"
I really don't get it. Not sure how it made it through ET pages and also received quite some recommendations.
Great speech
Well currently there is a race between PTI and PML-N to appease terrorists as that kind of ideology suits their voters.
Bilawal: The Earthquake to counter the Tsunami?!
PPP after completing its tenure in the government is suppose to win the next general elections but the performance of PPP government is so poor that Bilawal do not foresee that PPP will be able to win the forthcoming general elections even with the same number of sympathetic votes which PPP got after the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Now PPP have not other alternate except to make coalition partnership with various political parties of Pakistan and also talk about seat adjustments.
The actual fact is that no political party which is established on all Pakistan basis will be interested to have seat adjustment agreement with PPP.
The position of political parties will become clear once the results of the next general election will be announced and each political party will review its position as which way to go.
I am sure Bilawal will win a seat if he runs from Peshawar.
Bilawal should refrain from politics entirely!!! Now he's relating himself with the PTI, next thing you know people are talking about the PTI and saying stuff like "Bilawal supports them, there must be something wrong with the party!"
yes the imran is the positive man and i is the like him...also and you is the corrupt father son....do not touch me or the Pakistans...stay away..and and a a.....bohat lost ho rehi houn mein
Imran does not need this baby's approval who does not know a thing about Pakistan. I hope he knows Imran's opinion about him being in politics.
Two kids in the playpen playing, with their marbles.
If one reads Bilawal's entire statement one finds that what he has implied subtlely is
more important than what he has stated explicitly . The message that comes across
is that PTI is no radical departure from traditional politics of the country ; it is just like
one of the existing parties like PML-N , MQM , ANP or PPP . Should supporters of PTI
take it as a tribute or a trivialisation of their party ?
o my cute lil' baby...now go watch pokemon
Then join his party!
Daddy! Daddy! I wanna join Immy K's party.
Chummi*
L baba ka
Yes he is. The nation knows this But you are not. The nation knows this also
Bilawal Called PML-N and Nawaz Sharif as their partners in democracy but ET made a heading that suits PML-N
Bilawal following his Dad's agenda of ruling them all! IK does not need BBZ's approval!
yea a positive force to get rid of your daddy from power
A very mature and inclusive statment by a young PPP leader. Good to see showing respect and recognition to the other leaders and their efforts. Let us hope the next elections are fought in not so negative atmosphere.
