Medical facilities: New DHQ hospital in Bahawalpur soon

The 410-bed hospital is being constructed at a cost of Rs1.25 billion.

BAHAWALPUR: “Ninety-eight per cent of the construction of the district headquarters hospital has been completed,” Member of the National Assembly Mian Balighur Rehman said on Sunday. He was addressing the reporters after visiting the under-construction site. Expressing his satisfaction with the progress and quality of work, Rehman said the hospital will have a gynecology ward, a surgical ward, a medical ward, a children’s ward, and an X-ray department. He said modern diagnostic equipment and treatment facilities will be available at the hospital. The 410-bed hospital is being constructed at a cost of Rs1.25 billion. The MNA directed the engineers to ensure timely completion of the project. Negligence, he said, will not be tolerated. He said action would be taken against engineers and contractors if sub standard material was used in the construction. The MNA was told that the installation work of elevators was in progress.
