Political Administration Official Shamsul Islam told The Express Tribune that the blast occurred at 11:15am and injured three people.
Islam said that Ahmad was on his way to Haleemzai tehsil to address party activists and administer the oath from the new inductees of the party. “He remained safe in the explosion,” the official added.
He added that after the explosion, security forces along with paramilitary troops reached the site and cordoned off the area.
Medical Superintendent Dr Jehangir at Ghalanai Headquarters Hospital while talking to The Express Tribune said that three injured persons, hailing from Peshawar, Swabi and Mohmand were brought to the hospital and were administered with initial treatment. “They are now in stable condition,” Dr Jehangir said.
Earlier in October, eight people, including police personnel, were injured in two explosions in Swabi district, when Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti’s motorcade was passing through Mall Road, a kilometre away from the city of Swabi.
Hoti was on his way to inaugurate the Swabi-Jehangira Road, when a stationary motorcycle exploded moments after the convoy sped past.

@Mj: I am sure this point will be held valid in any court, Kangaroo court that is.
As you sow, so shall you reap.
It is definitely not the CIA, drone attacks are quite precise these days.
Maulana now you face the consequences of teaching the incorrect interpretation of jihad. What you sow so shall you reap.
Hmmm... lemme see this from the eyes of Anti Malala campaigners ... a conspiracy by CIA and Agencies to Alienate JI from Talibaans... Even if Talibaans claim it... they r not involved.
Anyways... high time religious parties stop fantasizing Talibaans regime as Islamic and should now start calling a spade a spade!
@SSM: Poor woman died so that her family could live. I have heard in Pakistan one can have his private suicide bomber if they can pay the price. Some one could have drugged her and duped her into doing this.
People like Qazi come and go every day. Only the present leadership of JI makes him look good in comparison.
Recently Jamaat e Islami started gathering the Ummah under one umbrella and tried to curb sectarianism by organising a summit of of mullahs from many different sects.
First, JI bought all sects together in one conference. Then they organized an international Islamic conference against the menace of sectarianism. Go check the picture on JI fb page.
It seems foreign elements who dont want harmony among sects and want sectarianism to continue have taken notice of his work and want it to end.
DAMN .....
He is a great leader. I am happy that he is Okay.
It appears that just like there are some "good Talibans," there are some "bad suicide bombings," too.
Innocent people been suffering atrocities by Taliban but Jamaat-e-Islami never condemned them. In fact it justified them. I am glad he got taste of his own medicine. I wonder if that will change Jamaat-e-Islami's attitude towards Taliban.
Who were them Qazi saab? CIA, Mossaad, bad talibaan or goood taliban? Think well and issue a statement tomorrow. I will be waiting for your answer.
It is matter of Mullah vs Mullahism.
Both the Mullah and the Taliban will try to convince each other as what is real and correct Islam to be implemented in Pakistan.
Instead of moving forward, we are trapped by few Mullahs who want to dominate Pakistan as per their wishes and will and do not know what actually Islam is?
JI is going to play an significant role in the new 'political design'...
"We should find rthe route cause of this instead of blaming the attackers".. does this sounds familiar, Qazi Sahaab?
@Beatle
You are confusing him with Maulana Fazul-ur-rehman, this is the height of ignorance of so called "liberals of Pakistan", have no idea who is what and what they do yet in thier hate they have to sprout nonsense then wonder why no one in pakistan listen to us
I so wanted to condemn this, but following JI lead on certain incidents, I am sure there was no attack on Qazi, there was no suicide bomber and all he wanted was a publicity stunt in collaboration with the CIA.
Attacking own mentors?? What does this mean?
@Jewcifer: If if walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...
But for you, I am sure KFC and McDonalds had something to do with it.
Not agreed with the Word mentioned "ESCAPES". It should be "SURVIVED". And this is Alarming, he lead YAKJEHTI CONFERENCE Last week and this is result of that conference.
Chickens have come home to roost; in this case literally
hehehe
It is high time that religious political parties launch a campaign for promoting tolerance in the society.
May ALLAH keeps safe QHA, As he is leading for solidarity in different sects of Muslim Ummah.
Taliban against Women Education but not Women Suicidor
Taliban are easy to blame. I am not sure they accept responsibilty of this attack. Open your eyes there are many other factors and agencies who may involved in this attack.
@Mj: How you know they were Talibans?
I am glad he is alive, but he and his party really need to condemn the Taliban instead of acting as their apologists.
