MULTAN: Some passers-by found a baby boy on Sunday from a garbage heap in Khanewal. The baby was found in the Kacha Khu village. Some passers by heard the child on their way back from morning prayers. They took the baby to the Kacha Khu rural health centre. Dr Tariq said the baby was suffering from high fever but would likely survive. He said the baby was only around 12 hours old. He said they were running tests to check if the child had contracted some infection. Muhammad Aslam, a revenue official, said he would adopt the child if no one claimed him. Aslam said he had given written assurance to the police that he would take proper care of the child.
