Short circuit: House in Karak burnt down

Gold jewellery worth half a million rupees along with Rs70,000 in cash and other valuables were charred.

KARAK: Valuables worth thousands were reduced to ashes when a house caught fire due to an electricity short circuit in the Takht Nusrati area of Karak on Sunday afternoon. Eye witness, Amjad Khan said that he was going out when he saw thick smoke coming out of his neighbour, Haji Ghafar’s house. In moments, a fire engulfed the whole house. Khan added that he, along with other neighbours, rushed to Ghafar’s house and tried to put out the fire with sand and water. “It kept growing, we could not control it,” said Khan. According to details, gold jewellery worth half a million rupees along with Rs70,000 in cash and other valuables were charred,  while four rooms of the house were destroyed. No loss of life was reported.
