Gender-Friendly: IIUI’s First Women’s Model UN

There were 150 delegates from educational institutes across the country.

To provide an interactive platform where female students can freely discuss global issues, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) inaugurated the first-ever Women’s Model United Nations (WMUN) on Friday at the Faisal Mosque campus.


Students said those who are not allowed to interact with men, miss out on such activities.

“It is imperative that we provide opportunities conducive to intellectual and academic development,” said Muneeza Yaqoob, women’s campus in-charge.

There were 150 delegates from educational institutes across the country.

WMUN will continue till November 18 and will feature a global village, social events apart from committee sessions.
